Áltima launches a new, more interactive website featuring a virtual space in tribute to the deceased
In addition to the Memorial Space, the website offers a new online chat from 8 AM to 10 PM and includes detailed information about the company-managed funeral homes, crematories, and cemeteries, as well as all available services.
The new portal also includes the updated Tanatopedia, featuring exclusive information about the funeral world, practical advice on what to know in the event of a death, and grief counseling.
April 2014. – Àltima has revamped its company website - [www.altima-sfi.com](http://www.altima-sfi.com) - to provide detailed content about all funeral services in a more dynamic, visual, accessible, and interactive manner. The new Àltima corporate website serves as a new communication space with detailed, transparent, and precise information about all centers; personalized counseling regarding grief and death; and new online services. A major innovation of the portal is the introduction of the **Memorial Space** (EPR), a pioneering virtual site where users can share texts, photographs, videos, or condolence notes about their deceased loved one as a tribute, in a customizable blog format.
Josep Ventura, Director of Funeral Services at Àltima, explains that “the goal of the new website is to continue progressing to meet current needs for information, counseling, and services related to the funeral process and grief, while keeping up with new technologies.” The creation of the Memorial Space, where users can compile memories of their loved ones, represents the most significant novelty. “Having a 2.0 service like this was essential, as families are increasingly familiar with the digital environment. It is a tool that will allow sharing memories of the loved one among all who knew them, whenever they wish and regardless of their location,” adds Ventura.
The Memorial Space features a simple and intuitive operation. Through a search function, users can quickly locate the tribute space by specifying the deceased’s name. An administrator, chosen by the family, is responsible for validating and publishing all content related to the loved one. The EPR also includes a birthday or death anniversary notification service. The service is free for the first year after the loved one’s death. After this period, the blog information can be saved on a USB drive or continue with the active portal.
Ongoing Service Improvement
The new portal also includes other significant updates. On one hand, it features personalized online support from 8 AM to 10 PM via chat, providing users with immediate information. On the other hand, the website allows users to book the advance directive service **La meva voluntat**, to define their funeral service that Àltima will carry out upon death. Additionally, the new website incorporates detailed and precise pricing for funeral services, reflecting the company’s commitment to providing essential information for users to compare and choose the option that best suits their needs. The site also allows users to request personalized quotes via the contact form, as well as payment and financing options tailored to families.
Tanatopedia and Grief Support
In 2010, Àltima launched the first wiki on funeral topics, Tanatopedia, which is now hosted on the company’s new website and currently includes over 200 articles.
In the realm of grief support, Àltima collaborates with the expert association AVES and Serveis Integrals de Psicologia (SIPS). Through the new website, users can now download various information about loss (How to cope with loss) and other death-related aspects (What to do in the event of a death), with practical advice on all necessary procedures.
The new portal also maintains other practical services such as recent death notices, allowing users to learn about the wake and ceremony time of the deceased; condolence notes, to manage sending farewell messages to family and friends; and the option to order flowers online.
The Àltima website is optimized for both computers and mobile devices.
