SFI offers the option to plan the deceased's final wishes in advance

Barcelona, October 29, 2012.

In order to offer increasingly tailored care to users' needs, Serveis Funeraris Integrals (SFI) is introducing "MiVoluntad," an innovative online method that facilitates recording the deceased's final wishes. This system not only allows individuals to specify who will inherit their most cherished belongings but also details their preferences regarding the funeral. Additionally, it offers other unique services such as personalized farewell letters to chosen recipients, a list of all their internet service passwords, or documenting the most significant moments of their life in a biography.

This new service, available through the website www.MiVoluntad.com, was created by entrepreneur Marc González and is aimed at those who wish to prepare in advance for the inevitable event of death. “With this service, we aim to spare the deceased’s loved ones from having to make decisions during painful times. With ‘MiVoluntad,’ those who are departing can say goodbye through letters they write themselves or record the most important moments of their life,” explains González. “MiVoluntad” also allows users to configure funeral details, including music, flowers, burial methods, or epitaphs. It also covers practical aspects such as the user’s internet passwords, debts, and creditors. According to Josep Ventura, Director of Funerary Services at SFI, the company behind this project, “The goal of introducing ‘MiVoluntad’ into our services is to adapt to the growing demand from people who wish to anticipate details of their passing and thus facilitate decisions during such a delicate time for families.”

“MiVoluntad” has an annual fee of 15 euros. By accessing these services, two electronic executors can activate the deceased’s account with a document verifying the death and a secret key. This way, “MiVoluntad” provides peace of mind to those who use the service and offers comfort to the deceased’s family and friends during the most delicate moments. Additionally, the farewell letters help loved ones cope with grief and better understand the deceased.

Funeral Services 2.0

New technologies have long been integrated into funeral services to contribute to the growing personalization and adaptation of these services to today’s society. More and more people are accessing traditional services online, such as virtual obituaries or flower orders (through websites like www.serveisfunerarisintegrals.com).

In the 2.0 environment, SFI has also launched a pioneering project: Tanatopèdia (www.tanatopedia.net), the world’s first wiki dedicated to the funeral sector, started two years ago and also with a presence on the social network Twitter (www.twitter.com/tanatopedia). The aim is to help break the taboo of death, with full respect and without trivialization, by addressing aspects of funeral history and culture from around the world.
