The funeral facility, which features 15 viewing rooms and two cremation furnaces, has completely renovated the central courtyard of the building, with an investment of 220,000 euros.

May 2014.- The funeral group Àltima has fully remodeled the interior central courtyard of the Tanatori-Crematori Gran Via in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. For the renovation of this space, around which are located 15 viewing rooms and a multifaith chapel, Àltima has invested 220,000 euros.

The renovation of the funeral home's central hall, measuring 870 m² and located on the first floor of the building, included the installation of wooden benches and planters with natural plants. These elements help reorganize the interior circulation between the viewing rooms and the chapel, while visually screening a large space to ensure more privacy and intimacy for families. The low-water-use vegetation in the planters creates a more welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for users. Additionally, the remodel focused on improving the acoustic and visual quality of the space with a new ceiling featuring thermal and acoustic insulation and new wall coverings with a white lacquered finish that adds brightness to the entire area. The ceiling also includes several LED lights that can be electronically adjusted to promote energy savings.

Àltima has managed funeral services in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat for over 300 years. The Tanatori Gran Via was the first facility of its kind installed in the city in 1996. “From the beginning, it has been a pioneering building due to its contemporary design and services, which have evolved year by year alongside families, adapting to their needs. In this regard, since 2002 it has had two cremation furnaces to address the rise in cremations, which now account for 50% in the city,” explains Josep Ventura, Director of Funeral Services at Àltima.

Currently, Àltima is constructing its second funeral home in L'Hospitalet, in the La Remunta area. The completion of the works, which began in June 2013, is expected in the last quarter of this year. The funeral group manages a total of 26 funeral homes, five cremation complexes, and 16 cemeteries in Catalonia, mainly located in the provinces of Barcelona and Girona.
