Àltima joins the first code of good practices for funeral services companies initiated by the Ombudsman
May 18, 2016 – Àltima has joined the first Code of Good Practices for funeral service companies established by the Ombudsman of Catalonia and the Association of Funeral Service Companies of Catalonia (AESFC). The document, which includes twenty recommendations, is the result of the Ombudsman’s initiative to ensure the rights of users of such services, in collaboration with various professionals in the funeral sector, including Àltima.
Some of the commitments outlined in the Code of Good Practices to which Àltima adheres include the requirement that funeral service personnel have qualified training for their specific tasks, the commitment to adhere to ethical principles—such as legality, free choice of the funeral company, non-discrimination, independence of action, integrity, loyalty, confidentiality, quality, and ethical behavior—the duty to inform and advise clients, promote organ and tissue donation, respect religious beliefs, and provide clear and concise information about burial or cremation options, among others.
According to Josep Ventura, Director of Funeral Services at Àltima, “We hope that the creation of the Code of Good Practices will be a very useful tool for the funeral sector. From the beginning, Àltima’s philosophy has been to offer the highest quality and transparency of service. Therefore, our adherence further solidifies the company’s commitment to defending and guaranteeing the rights of users.”
In line with this, Àltima includes the prices of all products and services on its website, as well as a detailed catalog and a free advisory service that provides personalized, no-obligation estimates to families.
